Ice experiment

Today me Victor , Max and Harrison got given some ice balls by Mrs Drummond and we did various things  like throwing the ice balls up in the air and seeing them smash. We learnt that when you add salt the ice starts to melt because of the sodium.

Water filter experiment

Last week a lady named Sally from Auckland Council Water care told us about water vapour and the filtering process of water. Sally got us to do a water filter experiment and we got given sand,bark and paper tissues to filter some dirty water with olive oil.

Book Week

This week on Monday Good Shepherd school opened up the school book fair and. we sold books
and we dressed up as our favourite characters from books .I dressed up as Harry Potter. then we had a hunt for facts and we had to answer them with our group.

Science in a Van

Today Science in a Van people taught us about the periodic table of elements and we did experiments with dried ice and we learned about gravity and balance.

Country Poster

A few days ago Mrs Drummond printed out some poster for the class about a county I picked whales because it was the only county that was in Europe. \ (•◡•) /

Anzac pamphlet

This term at reading me and my friend Xavier Tiato. made a pamphlet about a soldier named Stephan Archer. who was apart of this massive dinner at the old boy's hotel .

Maori

This term we learned Maori. We learned about body parts like head, shoulder, eyes, lips and nose. We got into groups and made a song. We didn't have any time to write our song down.. Personally I think Maori is a hard language to learn.

Mandarin

Every Thursday Room 5 are leaning mandarin Chinese with Mrs Lee. 

We are learning things like what my name is ,my age is ,my school is, in Mandarin. Personally, I like Mandarin but its hard to write down. 

week 10

The annual Good Shepherd Hot House challenge is up soon for all four houses. I am in Shepherd, the red house. 

Growth Mindset

This term our topic was about growth mindset and to believe in yourselves. It teaches you to see the best of you and use the power of YET. This was what wrote on the wall: the card asked me strategies that I might do to help reach my goal and I answered don't give up and have a growth mindset.

Tabloids sports

On Wednesday we had our St Joseph's Day tabloid sports. On tabloid sports we did stuck in the mud , shark attack obstacle course, cowboy and Indians ,etc.
It was very fun and all houses had a good time.

Week 8

Week 7 Room 5

 This week room 5 did drama and we did a listening game . On epic we read 900 books . For reading room 5 are researching about animals . My animal is a Red Panda. If you want to see a panda go to the Auckland zoo

Shine Week

This week is Shine Week. Today we are wearing orange because we are doing a fund raiser to stop family home violence. We each donated in a 2 dollar coin. and then Room 5 went swimming.

Also today, at reading the Quokkas group did a play . I am in the Quokkas and I played a rugby player who hurts himself in a photo. It was outrageous and very funny.

Lent

Good Shepherd are starting the season of Lent when we start fasting (means giving up some thing) for Easter.
My lent promise is to give start cleaning my football boots and my ball.

Shrove Tuesday

    On this Tuesday we celebrated Shrove Tuesday with Room One. and we made pancakes with

the cute Year 1 kids. and in the morning Father Bernard and some helpers to burn the palms from last year for tomorrow.

Week 5 Room 5

This week we are learning about graphs for maths  pie graphs, strip graphs and and bar graphs and many more
room 5 has read 400 books on epic this week

we are writing a story about an evil land called kraznir and and a beautiful land named slinsil  

and there are some rumours about  kraznir wants to invade slinsil so slinsil have sent in some spy's to find out their battle plan  .

We found some mantra quotes and we are decorating them to make the quotes look really good.

school has been super duper 👍 we played prodigy and read from get epic we did lots of reading
